Noncitizens Voting in America? Support the SAVE Act.

As of April 2024, there are an estimated 30 million noncitizens in the United States. The noncitizen population includes all foreign-born residents of the United States—legal, and illegal.

Noncitizen population includes:

  • Lawful permanent residents (green card holders) who haven’t naturalized;
  • Nonimmigrant visa holders (temporary workers and visitors);
  • Asylees (aliens granted asylum) and refugees;
  • Parolees (the more than one million inadmissible aliens the Biden/Harris Administration has allowed to fly into the United States without a visa, in a clear abuse of immigration law); and
  • Illegal aliens (at least 5.5 million illegal aliens have entered through Biden/Harris’ open borders).

All 50 states and the District of Columbia issue driver’s licenses, including REAL IDs, to noncitizens who are here legally. 19 states and the District of Columbia issue driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.

  • Every noncitizen authorized to work in the U.S. can get a Social Security number (SSN), except for some nonimmigrant visa holders and illegal aliens unless or until they apply for asylum.
  • With a driver’s license and social security number, noncitizens can register to vote in any state unless the state verifies U.S. citizenship.
  • Federal law requires all states to use the federal voter registration form, which only includes a checkbox asking: “Are you a U.S. Citizen?” In 2023, the Supreme Court ruled that states may not require documentary proof of citizenship in addition to checking the box.

What can we do?… Support the SAVE Act.

The following summarizes how Rep. Chip Roy’s SAVE Act would address voter registration issues:

  • Proof of Citizenship: Requires documentary proof of U.S. citizenship and identity for federal elections.
  • Voter Roll Maintenance: Mandates removal of noncitizens from voter rolls and grants access to DHS and SSA databases.
  • Legal Recourse: Empowers citizens to sue officials who fail to enforce citizenship proof requirements and imposes penalties for non-compliance.

It’s clear: the politicians who oppose the SAVE Act want to let illegal immigrants vote at both the federal and state levels (for example Proposal #1 or ERA that the Democrats put on the NYS ballot for November). The Democrats are working to create a new voter base—one dependent on the system and the Democrat politicians who will keep it all going. You scratch my back – I’ll scratch yours.

Take Action:

  1. Call and write to both of our U.S. Senators and urge them to vote YES on the SAVE Act. Contact Senator Kirsten Gillibrand [Here]. Contact Senator Chuck Schumer [Here].
  2.  Vote “No” on Proposal #1 (ERA) on November 5th.
