NYSED has released their regionalization plan and wants to eliminate local control and grant Boces total control over all NYS school districts! (Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany & NYC school districts are not included.)
This means that all districts outside of NYC would be under control of a regional Boces and have to consolidate their resources including tax dollars, align curriculum and share staff.
They are trying to push this through the same way they did with the mask regulation using emergency powers. Apparently there is a DEI emergency which is their excuse for implementing this socialist plan. The goal is to provide “equitable structure” to address “educational disparities”.
This is what you call a socialist education system and we cannot allow these tyrants to take the last bit of local control we have. This has already been tested in CT and failed miserably.
Cold Spring Harbor district is the 1st to push back with a letter to the Commissioner of Education Betty Rosa strongly opposing this Regionalization Plan and asserting their need to retain local control.
